Are you currently job hunting and not getting ideal results? As frustrating as it may be, the only answer is to keep moving forward. Here are some tips to help you land that perfect job:
Don’t burn bridges If you really want to leave your job, don’t choose to be rude to any co-workers or your boss. It’s a small world, so it’s best not to ever leave on a bad note. You’ll never know if your current boss knows your future one.
Keep track of your accomplishments Be sure to note all of your major and minor accomplishments at work. Things such as being promoted or heading a project are all items to list on a resume or mention in an interview.
What about Me? It can be easy focusing on yourself while writing a cover letter. Remember that the company is even more important. What can YOU do for THEM? Use the job listing as a resource when writing the cover letter. Pull key words and phrases from the listing to use.
Network more Ask your friends, co-workers and look online for upcoming networking events. So many available jobs are not advertised online, yet they get filled by word-of-mouth referrals. If you are actively looking for a new job, try to attend an industry-related conference at least 2-3 times a month.
Search for more jobs It’s a good idea to apply to more than one job during your search. Don’t hold yourself to just one open position because you may not get it right that moment. Be open to applying to other jobs as well. We’re here to help! As the Surgery Center Recruiters, we can assist you in your job search.
